Welcome Statement

We are a small, friendly, inclusive Church, mainly serving the Local Community. The Congregation meets twice a week for services in our beautifully appointed but contemporary Church.  We feel strongly that everyone should be given the warmest welcome and believe that God's Kingdom is open to all, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation or marital status.  Our aim is to try our best to apply our faith to our everyday life.

  • Thought for the week

“Commemoration of Caroline Chisholm, Social Reformer, 1877 I know the power obedience has of making things easy which seem impossible.”
    --Teresa Of Avila

One area of our church premises that always seems to get forgotten is the garden behind the church hall.  It’s a difficult piece of ground, being on a steep hill, and we’ve never really known what to do with it.  Since the top of the slope borders the public footpath, there’s always been a feeling that this represents a threat from unwanted intruders and therefore we should make the area as unwelcoming as possible.  Indeed, in the past there has been considerable vandalism of the hall roof and downpipes by people accessing the back of the hall (but now we have a CCTV camera round there, this is less of a risk).

Read more: Fair Trade Fortnight - Chocolate TastingFairtrade fortnight 2012 was from February 27th to March 11th.  We weren’t doing much at Holy Trinity to mark the occasion, but St Mary le Bow in Cheapside, City of London were holding a fairtrade chocolate tasting on Monday 5th March.  As I work near London I was able to get there and I took my teenage daughters along too.  Unfortunately no one else from Holy Trinity was able to come, but here’s a brief account of the evening so you know what you missed.  There was a film camera there too, so I expect it will all be on Youtube eventually.

Read more: Holy Trinity HolidayMonday 12th September 2011 saw the start of my first trip away with the "recycled teenagers" of our church, and what fun I have been missing!  We made our way by coach, to Weston Super Mare, where we were to spend the next three days.  During the stay we had trips to Bristol, Cheddar and Wells and spent much of the time laughing.
